How to tell if a sale in Pakistan is really cheaper
A big red "50% off" makes anyone want to tap buy. Often the price really is lower. But sometimes the item cost the same, or less, a few days ago. Here are the checks we use ourselves, with real prices we saw at Pakistani brands.
Sales today, in numbers
- 345,528 items are marked down at 488 brands.
- The typical one is 30% off its "was" price.
- 11,662 items are 70% off or more. That is 3% of everything on sale.
- 9,835 items are at a "sale" price they already had before the price went up.
Prices checked 7 min ago. We check every 3 hours.
1. Find the price before the sale
The only saving that counts is the difference between what you pay now and what the item cost before the sale started. The "was" price on the tag is written by the brand. It is not always the price people were paying last week.
Here is a real case. On 30 Sep 2026 we saw Gul Ahmed cut the price of 990 items at once. Most of the labels said 40% off. But compared with the price just before the sale started, the typical item was 14% cheaper. Prices went back up on 6 Oct 2026.
So the saving was real, just smaller than the label. If you had been watching one of those items at its old price, you would know what you were really saving.
2. Check whether the price went up first
Sometimes a price goes up for a short time and then comes back down. If you only see the second step, it looks like a drop. It is the same price as before.
A real case from Limelight: a Khaddar Trouser-Dyed (Unstitched) was Rs 1,099 on the afternoon of 29 Sep 2026. The price went up to Rs 1,199 at about 9 pm that day and came back to Rs 1,099 just after midnight. Anyone who saw Rs 1,199 that evening would have seen a Rs 100 drop a few hours later. It was the same price as that afternoon.
Often this is one sale ending and a smaller one starting. Either way, the price is not lower than it was. We list every item like this on our not a real sale page, with the prices and dates.
3. Read "up to 70% off" carefully
"Up to" means the biggest discount in the sale. A few items get it. Most get less. Across all 345,528 items marked down today, the typical one is 30% off, and only 11,662 are at 70% or more.
Before you count on 70%, open the item you actually want and look at its own price. Our guide to what "flat 50% off" and "up to 70% off" mean works through the rupees.
4. Check your size is still there
Sale items can have only a few sizes left. A great price in a size you cannot wear saves you nothing. On every item page on our site, we show which sizes are sold out, so you can check before you open the brand's website.
5. Add delivery and returns to the price
Two items at the same price can cost you different amounts. Before you pay, check:
- Delivery charges, and the order amount above which delivery is free.
- Whether sale items can be exchanged or returned, and who pays the delivery back.
- Whether cash on delivery costs extra.
- How long delivery takes during a busy sale, if you need it for an event.
A Rs 200 saving does not help much if the order costs Rs 250 to deliver.
How we help you check
Paste a product link
Copy the link of any item from a brand's website and paste it on our home page. We show its old prices, if we have been watching it.
Look at the price chart
Every item page has a chart of its price over time, marked where the price went up and where it came down. We check prices every 3 hours, so a short rise before a sale shows up.
See items that are not a real sale
Our not a real sale page lists items whose price went up and then came back down within 14 days, to no more than 3% below where it was.
Get one email when the price drops
Not sure yet? Open the item and tap "Tell me when it's cheaper". We send you one email when its price goes down, so you do not have to keep checking.
A quick checklist
- What did it cost before the sale started?
- Did the price go up in the days before the sale?
- Is the item you want at the big discount, or only a few others?
- Is your size in stock?
- What will delivery and a return cost?
If the answers still look good, it is a real saving. Enjoy it.
